Ex-MSNBC Boss Abrams Recruits Journalists

Nov 19, 2008  •  Post A Comment

Dan Abrams, whose time slot on MSNBC was given to Rachel Maddow, is tapping a corral of journalists as labor for a public relations consultancy he has set up, the Wall Street Journal reports. Mr. Abrams, who was chief at MSNBC for a short stint beginning in 2006, plans to continue working as an outside legal analyst for NBC News. Mr. Abrams touts journalists’ expertise in the areas that the PR shop might be hired to work in, but one critic said having journalists moonlight as business consultants will degrade the profession’s credibility, the Journal says.

  1. It’s funny to hear someone say that “having journalists moonlight as business consultants will degrade the profession’s credibility”. What degrades the profession’s credibility is when journalists act like the Public Relations department for the democratic party. The profession is lost. It’s right up there with lawyers. No respect because they have pissed it away.
