A real estate investor who helped create A&E’s “Flip This House” was awarded $4 million by a federal jury in South Carolina, the Los Angeles Times reports. He had sued A&E for allegedly reneging on a promise to share half the revenue generated by the show and the award represents half the profits from the first season, the newspaper said. Richard C. Davis, the plaintiff who helped conceive of the show, was featured buying properties, fixing them and selling some for a profit in the program. There was no written contract between Davis and A&E and the case represents the enforceability of oral contracts in Hollywood, the paper says.
