Microsoft Focuses Silverlight on Web Video

Microsoft’s Silverlight software is shaping up as a challenger to Adobe’s Flash for providing Web sites with high quality graphics and video, USA Today says. Both Netflix and Blockbusters are using the Microsoft product to show movies online. “There’s no question this is the biggest threat to Adobe in years,” Michael Olson, an analyst at Piper Jaffray, tells the paper. “But the market for online video is massive. There’s room for both Silverlight and Flash.”
