RCN Goes Digital to Battle Cable Giants

RCN is looking to challenge both established cable operators and video newcomers like Verizon by offering more digital television channels, the Washington Post reports. “We can leapfrog both of them,” Peter D. Aquino, CEO of RCN, tells the paper. “They’re not as locally focused. They can be beat.” A Comcast spokeswoman tells the paper it’s not sweating RCN. “We compete for customers every day,” she says.
