Yahoo announced Monday that co-founder Jerry Yang will step down as CEO, Mediapost reports, and return to his former role as Chief Yahoo upon the appointment of his successor. The Yahoo board of directors has initiated a search for a replacement. Yang became CEO in June 2007 and has overseen Yahoo’s strategic repositioning and transformation of its platform. Chairman Roy Bostock, with the directors and the search firm Heidrick & Struggles, will lead the search for a new CEO, Mediapost says.
