YouTube has officially gone widescreen, with video width expanding to 960 pixels, ZDNet reports. The Web site suspects the move was made to prepare for YouTube’s recent announcement that it soon will offer feature films on its site. “This new, wider player is in a widescreen aspect ratio, which we hope will provide you with a cleaner, more powerful viewing experience,” reads a statement on YouTube’s blog. “And don’t worry, your 4:3 aspect ratio videos will play just fine in this new player.”
