Mitch Gelman, who oversees editorial operations for CNN’s Web site, is leaving the company after a decade with the Time Warner unit, Media Bistro reports. Mr. Gelman, who started working on the Web site in 2001, said he was going to spend more time with his family in Colorado, Media Bistro says, citing a note to his staff.

  1. Why do people even bother saying this in a statement to the press?
No one ever believes the person who says they want to spend more time with their families.
That’s what Christmas is for, anyway, and it’s just about enough time. For most of us.
I would like to see the phrase “he/she is going to spend more time with his/her family in (name of state, city, county or country)” banned from the English language.

  2. Having said that, I wish Mr. Gelman all the best.
