News Corp. is expected to execute a round of layoffs after the new year affecting the media company’s owned-and-operated television stations, TVNewser reports, citing unnamed sources. The O&O affiliates will be asked to make cuts, including not renewing contracts or renewing them only for staffers willing to take pay cuts, the site says. Among the stations expected to make major cuts are WNYW in New York, WFLD in Chicago and KRIV in Houston, TVNewser says.
