NYT Co.’s Red Sox Stake Tops $200 Mil

The New York Times Co.’s 17% stake in the Boston Red Sox could earn the company at least $200 million if it sold its share, Reuters reports. The sale could benefit the company as it faces declining ad sales and should remain an easy deal, since many other companies would be interested in the franchise despite the struggling economy, the news service says. The Times did not comment on any potential divestitures, nor did the Red Sox on any ownership matters, Reuters adds.
