Showtime, known five years ago mainly for movies and “Queer as Folk,” has broadened its audience on shows such as “Weeds,” “Dexter” and “Californication,” which feature antiheroes as their central characters, the Los Angeles Times reports. The CBS unit has boosted its subscriber count by 7% from last year and its operating income by 20%, the newspaper says.
