Blockbuster will announce a partnership with Sonic Solutions to build video-on-demand options into consumer electronic devices such as DVRs, Blu-ray Disc players and mobile phones, the Hollywood Reporter says. The move has Blockbuster playing catch-up to Netflix, which has made agreements to put VOD capabilities in TiVo boxes, Xbox game consoles and Blu-ray players.
