The millions of office workers who tried to watch online videos of President Barack Obama’s inauguration caused some network problems and frustrations with viewers, the New York Times reports. The surge meant some viewers unable to see the video feeds, and had to resort to watching the event on television, the paper says. The event smashed video-streaming records on CNN.com and MSNBC.com, TelevisionWeek reports.

OMG! They had to “resort” to watching the event on television. You mean they had to give up that 2″, slightly fuzzy, stutter of a video feed to watch a 26″, possibly HD picture. The horrors! What’s next? Having to drink actual water from the tap?
