NATPE Mood All Business

The National Association of Television Program Executives conference in Las Vegas has a serious, business-like mood, far from the raucous bazaar of past years, the Hollywood Reporter says. By some estimates, the conference has attracted between 4,000 to 5,000 attendees, down from last year’s 7,500, and yet delegates are undaunted. “Old models don’t die, they simply transition,” Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said at a keynote address, the trade reports. The big question everyone is talking about is how television stations will weather the prolonged decline in local advertising, Daily Variety reports.
