Former Time Warner CEO Richard Parsons was named chairman of Citigroup, the Wall Street Journal reports. Parsons, already the lead independent director of the New York bank, said the move made sense “given the new direction in terms of the strategy and the larger role that the U.S. government and U.S. taxpayers are playing in the life of this institution,” the newspaper says.
