While the economic recession is taking a toll on many advertising-dependent media companies, others such as Netflix appear to be thriving in tough times, the Hollywood Reporter says. The online video-rental company should add 1 million new customers this year, and its stock has jumped 59 percent during the past 12 months, the publication says.
