In a review, the New York Times calls the performance of Patrick Swayze in A&E’s new drama “The Beast,” premiering Thursday night, “impressive for its resistance to cliché and remarkable for the mere fact of its execution.” Swayze has been receiving treatments for pancreatic cancer yet missed only one day of work while the show was being produced. But a review in USA Today warns that the first episode is burdened by a “ludicrous plot.”

this is why critics suck; blowhard Tom Shales hated the show; NY Times loves it; who to believe? Ignore all the critics and decide for yourself. After all, these guys all hate American Idol so how in touch with real viewers can they possibly be?
