Consumer Electronics Association President Gary Shapiro bashed the media for what he said was insufficient coverage of issues such as the mortgage meltdown and the U.S. financial bailout, Multichannel News says, citing a speech Shapiro gave today in Washington. Mr. Shapiro warned that the combination of a recently elected and charismatic U.S. president and the economic downturn could hinder the country for generations if government actions aren’t appropriately questioned by the media, Multichannel News reports.
