U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., wants to add a net neutrality clause to President Barack Obama’s proposed economic stimulus package, the Register reports, citing Public Knowledge, a public interest group specializing in digital technology. Feinstein may try to add her clause, which would include monitoring for child pornography, copyright infringement and other illegal acts, to the Broadband Technology Opportunities Program in the stimulus package during a conference committee between the Senate and the House, the site says.
