The Minority Media & Telecommunications Council has asked the FCC to extend the advertising nondiscrimination rule, which requires broadcasters to certify that their ad contracts don’t discriminate by race or gender, to cable, satellite and telecommunications companies, Multichannel News reports. The group made the request in a filing Monday, asking the FCC to “ensure an equal footing for a services in the fight against advertising discrimination,” the trade publication says.
