O’Donnell Waited Years for ‘America’

Rosie O’Donnell spent seven years waiting for her telefilm “America” to make it to TV, the Hollywood Reporter says. She originally wanted John Leguizamo to play the role of a therapist to children in the U.S. foster care system, although she took on the role after Lifetime said it was interested in the project only if she was in it, the trade paper says. The two-hour film will air Saturday, the Reporter says.
