Rant Raises Profile for CNBC Reporter

CNBC put reporter Rick Santelli’s rant about President Obama’s housing plan on the Web to generate traffic on its Web site, the New York Times reports. When Santelli was called out by Obama press secretary Robert Gibbs, his profile was raised even further, the Chicago Tribune says.

The same army of political operatives that descended on Alaska to dig dirt on Sarah Palin is probably going through Santelli’s trashcans and closets this very moment, according to Rush Limbaugh on his show Friday. It’s a plausible accusation, even if there’s not much evidence yet. Critics must be silenced; Obama is too big to fail.
