TNT’s ad-men series “Trust Me” was hit with a ratings plunge in its second week, as the program, which has drawn mixed reviews, garnered just 1.9 million viewers on Monday, down from its premiere of 3.4 million a week ago, Daily Variety says. The ratings for the show’s second episode represent a 65% loss from its lead-in “The Closer,” the trade paper says.

  1. I missed the first episode, but caught the second. I wanted to like the show but I found it lacking somehow. It is a fine line to show the complexities of men, both their good and bad traits and somehow they are missing out on showing a true connection between these guys.
They tell us they are best friends and you see they are ultra supportive of each other, but you don’t feel the connection. You don’t feel for their characters which is surprising because both actors are incredibly appealing. I hope they even out the problems and find a way to make us care. Otherwise, I don’t think I’ll be compelled to watch. The magic just isn’t working for me. B.J.

While I tend to agree with all your points, it is simpler for me. I could not get into the show. I tried. I really did. It just did not grab me. So, I skipped the second episode.
When I think of programming on these networks, I look at “The Closer”, “The Shield”, “Monk” etc. Those shows grabbed me.

  3. Bill summed it up perfectly. Trust Me just doesn’t grab you. I wish I’d seen the first episode. Most shows I’ve really enjoyed and loved, I knew from the first episode. Like Bill said, they grabbed me and pulled me into their reality.
So, Bill, have you tried Leverage? Because that’s my new show. It felt like a guilty pleasure at first, but now all the characters are growing on me and they are starting to reveal those layers. I was really happy to hear they’d been picked up for a second season. I just don’t want to wait! B.J.
