USA has canceled series “The Starter Wife” due to the show’s low ratings, Entertainment Weekly reports. The series, starring Debra Messing, began as a six-hour miniseries last year and drew about 5 million viewers, but then averaged 2.4 million viewers during its second season last fall, the site says. Although the network considered the show a “critical and creative success,” “Wife” still underperformed compared with other USA shows like “Burn Notice” and “Monk,” EW notes.
