Rick Boucher, D-Va., tells Broadcasting & Cable his top legislative priorities as the chairman of the House Communications, Technology & Internet Subcommittee include reauthorizing the Satellite Home Viewer Extension and Reauthorization Act and coming up with a new law to restrict how advertisers target online customers. Reauthorizing the satellite act “is important to allow the importation of distant network signals for viewers who cannot get a local affiliate of a particular network delivered over the air,” he tells the trade paper. But more importantly, Boucher isn’t focused on media-content issues, something which drew attention from some of his predecessors, the publication reports.
