Cablevision Systems plans to stop selling an analog expanded basic tier by the end of 2009, making it the first big cable operator to offer digital-only cable service, Multichannel News reports. The company’s analog lineup consists of about 60 channels, and about 91% of its 3.1 million customers use digital service, the trade paper says.
