Comcast’s plans for Internet television will protect the cable industry’s business model by backing up the idea of paying for content, according to Comcast Interactive Media senior VP Karin Gilford, Multichannel News reports. Gilford, who spoke at a panel discussion on Tuesday, said Comcast’s On-Demand Online service will be offered later this year and allow cable TV subscribers to log onto a site to watch online programs, the trade paper says.
