President Barack Obama has officially announced his intention to nominate Julius Genachowski as chairman of the FCC, TVNewsday reports. Speculation about Genachowski taking over the government agency began as early as six weeks ago, the site says. “He will bring to the job diverse and unparalleled experience in communications and technology, with two decades of accomplishment in the private sector and public service,” President Obama said in his announcement, according to TVNewsday.
