With Fox News Channel a powerhouse on the right and MSNBC picking up steam on the left, CNN is finding it hard to succeed while trying to play the news up the middle, the New York Times reports. The cable new network doesn’t plan to change its strategy. “There are several networks that reside in the cable news category, but only one that reliably delivers the news unbiased,” Jon Klein, the president of CNN’s domestic network tells the paper. “We would do ourselves a disservice if we thought that our main competitors were the other so-called cable news networks. They don’t have journalists on in prime time.”

Thank you Mr. Klein for that great explanation of why your network continues to deteriorate in ratings. That sound “journalistic” strategy will continue help your competition on the right keep growing strong.
