Canada-based cartoon producer Cookie Jar Entertainment has hired ex-Paramount Television and Columbia TriStar head Tom Mazza to help land its shows on U.S. television and in syndication, the Hollywood Reporter says. Mazza, who at Columbia headed development of such shows as CBS’ “The King of Queens” and the WB’s “Dawson’s Creek,” will try to help Cookie Jar partner with U.S. companies on Canada-produced shows or produce U.S.-based shows that may be sold overseas, the newspaper reports.
