Canadian cartoon producer Cookie Jar Entertainment has placed a $76 million counter-offer for American Greetings properties “Strawberry Shortcake” and “Care Bears,” the Hollywood Reporter says. The bid comes in an effort to trump a previous offer for the titles from the French company MoonScoop Group, the trade publication sayd. Cookie Jar has until the end of the month to finalize the deal before MoonScoop is allowed to come in and take over for its own offer, the Reporter says.
