Edie Falco prepared for her role on Showtime’s “Nurse Jackie” by watching hospital-based doctor shows on the Discovery Health Channel, the New York Daily News reports. “I’ve always been fascinated by them on Discovery Health. ‘Trauma: Life in the ER,’ ‘Mystery Diagnosis,’ ‘Untold Stories of the ER’—all those things. I am obsessed and always have been, for years and years,” she tells the newspaper. She said she tried observing a hospital in person, but felt “ostentatious, pretentious and all that” as an actress walking around an emergency room.
