Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Copps requested $1 million from U.S. Congress to account for digital television expenditures for the year ending October 2011, Multichannel News reports. Copps, who has asked for a cumulative total of about $355 million, said next year’s costs are necessitated by the transition of so-called low-power television stations, Multichannel News says.
