McClatchy Papers Charge for TV News

May 13, 2009  •  Post A Comment

Three newspapers owned by McClatchy are charging subscribers for their stand-alone TV sections, MediaPost reports. It now costs 25 cents to receive the Sunday edition sections with the Sacramento Bee, the Kansas City Star and the Miami Herald, the publication says. The Web site adds that the policy was set by each paper independently and wasn’t mandated by McClatchy’s corporate office.

  1. THE STATE in Columbia, SC a McClatchy paper is also charging .25 for the Sunday TV Magazine, if you can call it that. They have also reduced the local listings to a quarter page daily in the comics section. What’s next-are they going to cahrge to get the comics?
