Winners and Losers on Time Warner Cable’s New York City System

It’s good news for the likes of FX, Oxygen and Discovery Kids, and not so good news for some of the Turner networks, as one of the most influential cable systems in the nation’s biggest city makes some channel line-up changes, Multichannel News reports.

For example, as of Aug. 19, FX wil be seen on channel 10; previously it was on channel 37. On the other side of the ledger, CNN is moving from channel 10 to channel 78.

  1. For some reason Today Time Warner Queens has saddled me with a inexplicable new cable menu. Badly designed, clunky to use, and for some reason while I have 5 or more options scattered across the menu for setting my TV to turn on and off, there is NO setting for setting a program by tiele and recording duration!
Personally, I never cared if my TV was set to automatically turn on or off. If I’m home I can do it myself.
Maybe I’m a dinosaur, wanting to record with my VCR. But it was a snap with the old menu, which was well designed pleasing to the eye, and easy to figure out.
The Time Warner representative also told me that a lot of people with DVR were also upset at lost features.
