ESPN is expected to announce today that it will show the Sept. 12 USC-Ohio State football game to a select audience in 3-D, the Los Angeles Times says.

No tickets will be sold for the 3-D version, which will be shown in Los Angeles at the Galen Center, which is the 10,000-plus seat sports arena built a few years ago to house the home-games of the USC basketball team, and at the ESPN Zone at LA Live, which is adjacent to Staples Center and is near the USC campus.

In Ohio the game will be screened in 3-D at a theater near the Ohio State campus in Columbus.

Furthermore, ESPN guests in Hartford, Conn., and in Hurst, Texas will also be able to screen the game in 3-D. In those two cities network officials will be seeing how audiences with generally no loyalties to neither team react to the 3-D process.
