IFC Co-Sponsoring N.Y. Reunion of Monty Python

IFC will co-sponsor a Monty Python reunion to mark the 40th anniversary of the creation of the troupe on Oct. 15 at the Ziegfeld Theater in New York City, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The announcement of the reunion was very Pythonesque, the Times says. "In fact, today’s press release even states that Graham Chapman — who died in 1989 — will be in attendance."

IFC is airing a "Pythonathon" from Oct. 18 through Oct. 24.

In other Python-related news John Cleese has been grousing of late about his recent divorce settlement, according to The Daily Telegraph.

Cleese has been ordered to pay about $13 million to his ex-wife, American Alyce Faye Eichelberger. They had been married 16 years and had no children, the Telegraph reports.

Said Cleese: “At least I will know in future if a I go out with a lady they will not be after me for my money."
