Michael Jackson’s Mom Steps Back From Bid to Control Estate

Michael Jackson’s mother, Katherine, has been awarded custody of Michael’s three children – Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket — but she’s not going to get control of his estate, Associated Press reports.

Katherine Jackson, who withdrew her petition to be named executor of Michael’s fortune, has stepped aside for now, AP says.

Los Angeles Judge Mitchell Beckloff ruled Monday that attorney John Branca and music executive John McClain, who have been controlling Jackson’s affairs since his death, will continue as co-executors until October. The AP reports that the judge will consider a motion by Mrs. Jackson to disqualify the men’s appointment at a later date.
