VH1 tells the Los Angeles Times it is rethinking its dependence on dating and relationship shows, in the wake of pulling two programs that featured contestant Ryan Jenkins, who was an apparent suicide last weekend after being sought in the murder of his ex-wife.

In his first post-Jenkins interview, VH1 President Tom Calderone said the network may lessen its reliance on 51 Minds Entertainment, which produced “Megan Wants a Millionaire” and “I Love Money 3,” both now canceled.

“This is not what I signed up for,” Calderone said. However, the production company will remain one of VH1’s suppliers, he said.
