“X-Files” writer and producer Frank Spotnitz is developing two drama series for HBO, both set in the future, Variety reports.

“Humanitas” is a medical thriller that explores the ethics questions provoked by advanced genetic science. He’s also adapting Robert Silverberg’s 1971 sci-fi novel “The World Inside,” about overpopulation of the planet.
