Cablevision will be the first cable company to offer customers interactive advertising commencing next month, reports Multichannel News. The interactive service, called Optimum Select, will give nearly 3 million Cablevision subscribers the chance to click on a TV ad via their remote and get a coupon or free sample of the product by mail.
Six national advertisers including Benjamin Moore Paint have agreed to the program, which will launch in October; within months, Cablevision anticipates expanding significantly. By next year, Cablevision customers will be able to buy products via their TV sets.
