NFL Makes Concession on Blackout Rule, Will Stream Games After Play on NFL.com

Sep 11, 2009  •  Post A Comment

The National Football League said most games affected by its blackout rule will be available starting at midnight Monday in the local markets on a delayed basis, The Hollywood Reporter says.

The games will stream on NFL.com for free for 72 hours after they are played.

ESPN “Monday Night Football” telecasts aren’t included, but those games usually sell out and therefore the games aren’t blacked out in their home markets.

The blackout issue has become contentious this year, as the economy has limited ticket sales, resulting in more potential blackouts.
