Lou Dobbs’ Accusation Against CNN and How Much the Network Paid Him When He Left

Nov 17, 2009  •  Post A Comment

Lou Dobbs appeared on Bill O’Reilly’s popular show on the Fox News Network on Monday, and told why he thought he fell out of favor at CNN, where he quit last week.

According to the New York Post, O’Reilly was told by Dobbs that the only difference between the kind of journalism he was practicing on CNN over the past few years was the election of Barack Obama.

Dobbs went on to say about  Obama being elected president, "I don’t know whether that was the distinction that triggered any sort of response or a difference in perspective on the part of CNN’s management, but it is the only difference between the way I was conducting myself under this administration and the previous administration."

Previously, the Post had reported that in leaving CNN Dobbs gave up about $9 million on his contract. The Post then ran a story on Monday that CNN was so eager to have Dobbs leave that they gave him a severance package worth $8 million.

  1. It could be that Dobbs was reporting fictitious nonsense that Obama was born in Kenya. I don’t think I ever heard of him claiming that Bush was not a legitimate president.
The man is a bigot. Period. Good riddance. O’Reilly is the perfect format for bamboozling boobs to air their balderdash.

  2. Regardless of whether you thought the accusations were garbage or not, the story deserved some attention given the wide variety of pure fiction that has been reported as “news” surrounding Bush and especially surrounding Sarah Palin.
So now its bigotry to want to protect our borders and to actually enforce immigration laws? That’s also news.
But your comments surrounding O’Reilly make your biases perfectly clear, so you’re the perfect CNN viewer.

  3. I could not stand that bigot Lou Dobbs. All his show was about was hatred to anyone not of his own color, particularly Hispanics. I am sure he will find a nice bigoted home at Fox.
Hey Lou, don’t let the door hit your bigoted butt on the way out.

  4. I have many friends of different races, ethnicities, nationalities, religions, etc. I am always amused that Blacks describe themselves as African Americans when everyone on this side of the planet is an American and all life originated in Africa. And AA is a nationality combo, not a race. Item two – what “color” is an Hispanic? When I was brought up, the “colors” were Black (Negroid and Australoid), White (Caucasoid), and Yellow (Mongoloid). So, what color is an Hispanic?

  5. A lot of things changed w/the Obama: the media lost it’s sense of direction, the Dem party got all woozy, and I voted Republican for the first time in my life. Not because he’s black, but because of how the Dems treated Hillary so badly in favor of a vastly less experienced jr senator, and then because of how unfairly the media treated her and later Sarah Palin (but did anybody raise as much of a fuss about sexism as they did about racism? no). I can see Dobb’s POV. We’re supposed to question ALL our leaders, even those that Rolling Stone and Oprah annoint. And there ARE legitimate questions about his birth and upbringing.

  6. There are clearly far too many idiots posting here today….

  7. Good riddens LD. CNN should have fired him along time ago, like 2 years ago when I wrote them and asked them to get rid of him and Glen Beck. Both worthless bigots. Fear mongrals who fit with the other idiots at Fox News. Next up, Mr. Joe on MSNBC… these guys aren’t reporters, don’t know what it is to report the news and belong on the station that loves to hate..Fox News.
