The Cabletelevision Advertising Bureau announced Tuesday a 1.8% increase in ad sales growth for the national cable nets, reports Multichannel News.
The total when the year is complete will be approximately $18.7 billion. That’s an increase of $330 million from 2008.
In a statement, CAB CEO Sean Cunningham explained, "As 2009 ad budgets were under intense scrutiny, we did a lot of work with agencies and advertisers on cable’s gains in original programming, ratings and reach analysis and multiscreen insights. So having cable’s branded networks counted on even more heavily by 2009 national advertisers was extremely gratifying."
