‘Jersey Shore’ Gets an Edit to Remove Controversial Scene

An upcoming episode of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” has been trimmed of a controversial scene, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

The network cut a scene in which a female participant is punched in the face, a scene that the network has already teased repeatedly on air and online. There’s already been a prosecution in the attack, whose aftermath will be shown but not the event itself.

"After hearing from our viewers, further consulting with experts on the issue of violence and seeing how the video footage has been taken out of context to not show the severity of this act or the resulting consequences, MTV has decided not to air Snooki being physically punched in next week’s episode,” the network said.
