Rain, Snow and Cold Equals a Boom in Weather Channel Numbers

Feb 12, 2010  •  Post A Comment

The intense winter weather has been trying for Americans and for information about what’s going on, they’ve been turning to The Weather Channel, setting new records across multiple platforms, the network reported.

On February 9, 2010, there was a single day record set of 178 million page views across digital platforms, weather.com, The Weather Channel Desktop and The Weather Channel Mobile, including mobile Web and downloadable applications available on iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and Palm devices.

That figure shatters the previous single-day record, 147 million on January 7, 2010. In the midst of the nasty winter season, weather.com has had its four highest traffic days ever. That said, The Weather Channel was No. 1 in cumulative reach across three days, reaching almost 50 million total viewers from Feb. 8-10.
