Sen. Al Franken has turned to his former show "Saturday Night Live" and one of its stars, Seth Meyers, to help fill his campaign coffers, the Associated Press reports.

Meyers, the show’s head writer and the host of its “Weekend Update,” will headline a $50 a head fundraiser for the Minnesota Senator on Saturday. It will benefit Franken’s Midwest Values PAC.

Franken was on staff on the show from 1975 to 1980 and from 1985 to 1995.
