WeTV’s "Sunset Daze," which aims to be a geriatric version of "Jersey Shore," attracted a median viewer age of 60 while performing poorly with the 18-to 49-year-old demographic, the Los Angeles Times’ Company Town blog reports.
The show, which has garnered a fair amount of press for its cast of sex-crazed seniors living in a retirement home, drew about 311,000 people to its Wednesday debut.
While that number may not sound like a lot, it represents a sizable audience for WeTV. Women accounted for 80 percent of the viewers, and the median age of the show was about 15 years older than WeTV’s average.
That is almost as many people as are watching the NHL on Versus. Who is paying more for the rights?
