Basketball Rules on Tuesday Night

Game six of the NBA Finals was a major draw on Tuesday night in the Nielsens, reports TVbytheNumbers.com.

The eight o’clock hour started with the president’s address from the Oval Office, which was covered by all four networks. ABC was tops from 8-9 with "Jimmy Kimmel" and "NBA Countdown" getting a 3.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic for the hour, followed by Fox’s "Hell’s Kitchen," which had a 2.0 and 2.7 for the first two half-hours. NBC’s "Losing It With Jillian" had a 1.4 for the hour.

At 9 p.m. the tipoff of the game spiked in the ratings, giving ABC a 4.8 and a 5.7 for the two half-hours in the 18-49 demographic. The other half of "Hell’s Kitchen" managed a 2.9, while NBC’s "America’s Got Talent" earned a 2.6 and 3.2 in the demo.

From 10-11 p.m. the basketball game collected a 5.5 and a 5.7 in the 18-49 demo, while NBC’s "Last Comic Standing" netted 1.9 and 1.6.
