Gena McCarthy is shifting to Lifetime from the Discovery Channel to direct Lifetime’s reality programming group, reports the Hollywood Reporter. 

She’ll take on the title of senior vice president of reality and alternative programming, the story says. She most recently was the senior vice president of development and production at Discovery Channel. In that role, she helped develop shows including "Ghost Lab" and "Pitchmen."
