Kathy Griffin has earned the ire of Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) for calling his daughters "prostitutes" on her Bravo show "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List," reports the Boston Herald

During the program, Griffin was quizzed by CNN reporters Dana Bash and Jon King, who flashed a photo of Brown in front of Griffin, asking her to identify him. The comedian replied, "Scott Brown, who is a senator from Massachusetts. And has two daughters that are prostitutes," the story says. After Bash starts laughing, the program came to a halt and Griffin narrates, "And now, a brief message from Bravo’s legal team: Scott Brown’s daughters NOT prostitutes!!! We now return you to our regularly scheduled negativity."

The incident has provoked Brown’s ire, with the junior senator issuing a statement saying, "People can call me any name they want, but families are off limits. I love my daughters, Ayla and Arianna, very much, and any parent would be proud to have them as children. Kathy Griffin and Bravo ought to be ashamed of themselves.”

  1. Kathy Griffin is a miserable, sad wannabe. I don’t see how anyone finds her funny. She’s disgusting.

  2. Wait a minute. Didn’t the senator pimp his daughters on national tv after he won the election? Yes he did.

  3. It was a clearly a JOKE. It’s not like she really think Scott Brown’s daughters are prostitutes.. Seriously! Why do politicians have no sense of humor! And how much do you want to bet Mr. Brown never even saw the episode and is just going off so report he saw on Fox “news.”

  4. I guess Senatorial spending is off limits, too!

  5. I agree, that was not cool, but now it’s just good publicity for my favorite D-lister. Like so many other shows, her stuff offends by design. But at least she has a proactive & socially relevant agenda for change. Not many shows on air do that. I’m not one of “her gays”, but I love her show! (It helps that Reality TV is my field.)

  6. I wish I could chop up Fox News into little tiny pieces and put it on my roses! They would probably grow 20 feet tall!

  7. If you watched this episode you understood why Washington gets nothing done. I was embarassed by the idiocy and self-absorption demonstrated by the Washington elitists. As Kathy pointed out, they are at least as bad as Hollywood – but without any sense of humor.

  8. The usual typical media hyprocracy. You can say anything, no matter how terrible as long as it is about a concervative of a Republican. If anyone objects, you just say…”Oh, it was just a joke.”
Say the same thing about a liberal Democrat, and you are branded a racist and told you must resign whatever post you are holding.

  9. Regardless of your political views… Families are off-limit. Why you want to call someone a prostitue as a joke? I guess just to get press coveragr… And that what failed actors need.

  10. I thought jokes were supposed to be funny. How would you feel if someone called a member of your family a prositute? It’s not funny. Republican, Democrat, Independent, whatever. It’s not funny. Make jokes about the senator, he’s the one in office.

  11. Long before he was a politician, Scott Brown posed nude for the centerfold of Cosmo. He appeared in the June 1982 issue.
Maybe the joke should have been aimed at Scott….

  12. Love all the opinions expressed here! How is everyone? Love how everyone expresses whatr they feel 🙂
